Like the title says, does anyone know what the 'Sidetone Level' is?
Found under diagnostic menu, audio. Ranges from somewhere -60 to about 0, I didn't go any further up or down.
And I didn't seem to hear (or see) any difference.
There are some more info screen for GPS, NAV and so on.
Any input is appreciated.
I found this definition. I've seen it mentioned in some of the threads about trying to use Bluetooth headsets with HD's Boom Infotainment system. Maybe one of those guys that are experimenting with the headsets will explain it better.
Sidetone is a type of audio feedback, where sound picked up by the microphone is fed back into the earpiece of the headset. When the sidetone feature is turned off, users will be unable to hear their own voice in the headset and this may cause them to shout.
Sidetone is great to have as it allows you to hear yourself speak through both the intercom and CB. We use Sidetone in aviation headsets too. I was not aware that we could adjust its level in the infotainment system though. That's great because mine is too low to be useful. Where exactly did you find that menu?

Yehaw, another option I don't need! No one needs to hear me talk, not even me...
It is within the diagnostic tool (hold mute button, turn ign on, wait for accept button, press accept button, release mute button), under audio in the first menu screen....

LOL!!! Yah me too. It's nice if you're used to it though. Let's you know if you're talking too loud or not loud enough. Plus it confirms that you're actually transmitting or not.

Need help in finding the sidetone adjustment screen. I followed the above instructions and when I selected Audio, all I saw was 2 more buttons, 1- EQ and 2 - Speaker test. Not sure what EQ is but when selected a long list of codes come up.

Same here Scarz... If I had to guess the option or access was dropped in later updates... Seems to me I remember reading on here somewhere about guys having access to Sidetone adjustment in versions 18 and earlier... Much to my disappointment as Sidetone has given me fits trying to convert to a totally wireless setup!!! Would the dealer service techs with their bag of toys and tricks have access to it??? Anybody???
A few days ago I updated from 1.17.5 to 1.19.1. As I was going thru some of the menus, I noticed Sidetone. I don't know how I got to it but I can't find it anymore. As Scarz said, all I find now is EQ & Speaker in the Audio menu. Frankegd, can you still find sidetone?
Sidetone is no longer in 1.19. Even in 1.18 once you left the diag screen the Sidetone level went back to where it was, so could not adjust it. I did sleek to the tech during one of my service visits and he said he had not found a way to adjust it either
