Default 2014 Street Glide Stock Tires

I run Enforcer wheels 16/19 on my FLHTK off a 20014 Street Glide.I want to replace the stock Dunlop 407T($300.00) & Front D408F ($192.00)with Dunlop American Elite Front 130/60B19 & Rear 180/65/16 both for ($300.00).Sealership said not to run anything but stock tires(sounds like BS).Anybody run this combo or have any insight on this matter. Thanks for the help.

If you have ABS, I would be sure that your new setup matches the stock diameter when all said and done.

I call BS on running a particular tire. I'm sure it just makes the dealership a nice chunk of change if they sell theirs. But as Rustrtal said, maintain the overall diameter. I'm OK with the stocks for now, but will probably replace them with Metzler 880's when the time comes. You may also want to price an indy shop if you have one nearby to do the install.

watch the load rating too - there's not a lot of tires with the correct rating in some of those sizes.

The stock FLHTK Front tire D408 130/80/17 Overall Diameter is 25.20 the rear D407 180/65/16 is 25.33,the Street Glide front tire D408 130/60/19 is 25.39.Running this setup for 9 months no problems. The American Elite front 130/60/19 is 25.26 & the Rear Elite is 25.19. Looks good to me.

I was told by a Dunlop factory rep that the tread compound for the American Elite was exactly the same compound used in the D407/D408. He also stated that I should expect similar tread life as well. The stock rear tire lasted for 17,500 miles with 3/32 of tread left when I replaced the stock D407/D408 with Dunlop American Elite of equivalent tire sizes.

I now have 3500 miles on the American Elite tires with negligible wear.
