We went up Sunday and the weather was GREAT and the traffic didn't get bad
until afternoon time. We went up to Merideth then down to Fun Spot. Skipped
going down to the Weirs area because it was already backed up to Fun Spot.
My Bro-Law went Tuesday and said the weather was great then too.
We drove up on Wednesday to the Weirs and the weather was drizzley all the
way up. Dry on the way home. Main weirs parking for bikes was PACKED and plenty
of people walking around. I would say they will have a good turn out the rest of the week.
What we thought wasaCRAPY place to have theHD event wasdowntown Laconia.
How DUMB was THAT idea ! I passed on my usual demo ride I do every year.
Who the heck wants to put up with city traffic. Merideth had their discount tent there
and we LAUGHED. Why they bothered I don't know ....
Might try the dirt track races on Friday in Rochester.
Rob .....

Got home tonight and had a great relaxing time. The meet on Wed went pretty well. I think there was 7 of us from HDF there. Put over 1200 miles on the bike. Typical showers here and there, but that's expected. Also bike broke down.......

Bike won't start
Dirtnap diagnoses as starter.
Tap with hammer to start
4 hrs at dealer to fix
$540 bill
...............14 days left on factory warranty........PRICELESS!

I am riding down from central Vermont tomorrow morning with 3 of my fellow workers. They will all be riding Victory's and I will be the lone HD in our group.

Yup.... and met some good people on Wednesday. Nice putting faces to the names. Too bad more people didn't show.

And I just wanna add that whoever came up with putting that stupid traffic circle in the middle of the roadbetween Meredith HD and Funspot was a pretty retarded idea.

Here's some pics from my 6/16 day ride.
Heres a few pics aboard the MS mount Washington (the floating bar) looking at Weirs Beach:

Heres some pics of a few bikes that cought my eye:

And this bike was the coolest one I saw:
http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/5989/1000358rb0.jpg
Got on the road about 7AM, had a quick breakfast, and cranked right up to the Weirs, and got there around 10AM, only sat in traffic for about 10 min. and got a great parking spot at the top of the hill where I took the pic. We walked around and checked out all the vendors, all the $$$$$checkbook choppers, and FOOD. We left the Weirs around 12:30, and by this time, traffic was backed up as far as you could see in all directions. I got stuck in traffic heading up rt 3 to Meridith for over an hour. But once past Meridith, we had a georgeous ride around the lakes.
I saw a LOT of Harleys along the side of the road overheated from the traffic. I gotta say adding Mobil 1 15W-50 full synthetic oil, and the Power Commander to manage my FI was the best dam thing I could do to a stock EPA lean friendly bike!!! My bike ran so good, even after lenghtly idleing in traffic for on the long uphill stretches.

Awesome time in Laconia despite the usual crazy weather. Sorry I missed the Meet & Greet, but was on a ride that went a bit longer than expected. Gotta love the weather on Friday, it was awesome...headed to Kennebunkport, ME for some lobsta! Rode down the coast then back to Laconia. The ride back home on Saturday was interesting, got to Port Jervis, NY and hit rains to Scranton, PA. Did I say rains, more like a torrent! Stayed over the night in Scranton to dry out, then back on the road to Virginia. Loved the ride up, the rides in and around Laconia, the partying, and the ride back (except for the torrent). What an awesome trip and week it was!
