The Sylvan-Verona Beach Resort Association in partnership with the Village of Sylvan Beach will be hosting Bikes At The Beach starting May 23rd, 2006. Every Tuesday throughout the summer, Bikes At The Beach will be the most exciting event in Central New York.
Sylvan Beach is a very dynamic tourist destination located on the East shore of Oneida Lake. The Village is bordered on three sides by water and in recent years has been a popular destination for bikers, classic and custom car enthusiasts. Located midway between Utica-Rome and the Syracuse metropolitan areas and only 7 miles from Thruway Exit 34, we could not be more ideally situated as a day trip destination for bikers.
There are approximately thirteen restaurants, thirteen bars, six ice cream stands, an amusement park, a grocery store and one mile of waterfront all within walking distance of one another! Inside of a five minute drive are an additional four bars and three restaurants. The Village DPW Superintendent estimates that over 1000 bikes come through every week already, this place is just screaming for a bike night.
Lived in AVA for 5 years while station in Rome. This by far is the greatest area I've ever lived so much to do, but in 87 the economy was awful had to sell the house and move on.
Yeah bikerdog I ride up through Lowville a lot. It's a nice ride up that way from Rome. I hear ya AceHog. The economy really headed south when Griffis closed. I would imagine that's where you were stationed. The economy is really coming back up here now though. Thanks for your service [sm=americanasmiley.gif]
