I Know the Wildwood locals were pissed by all the noise and blocked off streets. To us it may sound sweet, to them it's just anoying loud crapy noise. Some of us don't realize how all that noise affects thousands of other people that live there with their familys. You can tell that by the way some of the knuckeheads Blast down the streets in Wildwood. I will miss wildwood.
I too enjoyed the HOG rally and will miss it this year. It appears the Roar to the Shore is still on for 2007 which always seems to be the same weekend as the HOG rally. That's a good enough excuse for me to head down to Wildwood in Sept. http://www.roartotheshoreonline.com/
I heard that HOG pulled it because of some missing money / shady accounting from the 2006 event.
Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can verify or shed some additional light on the subject...
However, I did also hear that Roar to the Shore is on in Wildwood for 2007; just no state HOG Rally at the same time.
I went to the one last fall too, it was pretty cool. From what I hear this will be the 3rd year of the spring one and it is smaller but it's growing. Places to stay are pretty reasonable since it's way before peak season.
