Amsoil question
I decided to try Amsoil (in all three holes) and found a local dealer. I told him that I wanted the MCV 20W-50 Motorcycle oil for a harley davidson.
What he brought me was this oil here

This is what I wanted

He told me that these were the same thing. Anyone know if these are the same or shold I tell him that I want the MCV 20w-50.

As an AMSOIL Dealer my advice would be to tell him to get you what you asked for. MCV is th oil that is formulated for use in Motorcycle engines.. As already mentioned, you can probably use what he brought you and never know the difference but that is not the point. i supply many Motorcyle shops with AMSOIL and it is the MCV they order and the MCV they get. Another point I forgot to mention is that the MCV meets the API GL 1 which is required for use in spur gear transmissions. That is why you can use it in all three holes. The ARO is a great oil but I found no mention of the GL1 spec.

I switched my 2000 FXDX to Amsoil MVC 20/50 in all three and it has done exceptionally better.
Shifting is much improved and at the same primary level Neutral is much easier to find.
I've modified this beast, it's a fire breathing monster.
Nowthat she hasAmsoilin her veins life is beautiful.
For a complete change, with Amsoil oil filter, it took 4.5 ounces short of 6 quarts.

Use the MVC and you'll have the finest oil there is (IMHO)...
I get it for about $6.50 a quart from one of the dealers on the site here and am very pleased with it. The tranny shifts into Neutral effortlessly under all conditions.

No way is this the same thing! Do not put this in your bike. If you can get your money back and find a dealer that has your best interest in mind, do it.

H-D used to advise using diesel oil over motor oilwhen you need toadd oiland can't find the H-D stuff. The stuff they gave you will certainly work.However,was I you,I'dchoosethe MCV which is a better fitfor the Vtwin engines.
