Default Oil for primary

I've been using Mobile 1 15w50 super snyc in my Standards engine and it has performed excellent with this Texas heat. I've been using regular castrol blend 10w40 oil in my primary and have been thinking about using Castrol Syntec 20w50 instead. I don't use the mobile 1 in my primary because it may cause slippage, will the Castrol be alright to use? Thanks, John

I've used either Mobil 1 v-twin or Amsoil 20W-50 in the primary of my Standard from the get go and have never experienced slippage. Sorry, I can't address the Castrol.

I found that using the HD primary oil gives a better feel to the clutch and the hookup over the syn 3 that came in the bike. Why not try that, cost factor is probably better also.

I switched to HD primary oil at the last change ($3.50). It took about 100 miles and I started feeling a difference in the clutch and the noise level. Same with the transmission when I switched to HD Trans oil (for FL). More click and less clunk! [&:]

I bought a quart of the HD Formula + to put in the primary next oil change, which I'll do in a week or so. I'm anxious to see if it makes any difference from Mobil 1 V-twin 20W-50.

I just finished about an hour ago changing my primary from syn 3 to HD primary oil. I changed out my tranny from syn 3 to Mobil 1 a week ago. I still have syn 3 in my engine. Any problem running that 3k or should I change it out as well? Thanks. Mark
