I have 3 Jap bikes plus the Sport Glide and proud to find out that oil threads are no different between jap bikes, BMW's and Can Am boards. No matter what oil one uses to someone else you are an illiterate crap weasel.

Use what ever makes you happy and quit worrying about others opinions. My Jap bikes all get Mobil 1 15W50 cage oil as it has no friction modifiers and those boards will tell me my clutches will slip and the tranny will fall out. BMW boards will not agree about what color a white pc of paper is and iffens it does not say BMW on it then no possible way for it to work. HD boards seem no different on oil discussions as all boards has someone that knows everything about anything and if you do not follow their advice you are worse than stupid. Use what makes you happy and can afford then do not worry about the ney sayers. There are a crap load of good oils out there that will work in our bikes no matter what we ride.

My riding buddy has a Kawasaki ZRX1200 with 144,000 miles. He bought it with 13,000 miles and it has had Rotella 20W40 dino oil in it and changed every 3000 miles. For those that will not use Rotella and think it is crap oil would you like to convince him that Rotella is no good?

My Sport Glide is my 1st HD and had 400 miles on it when I bought it 09-19-2023 so I decided to use QuickSilver 20W50 V-Twin oil for its first 3 hole oil change. Gonna stick with it at 5000 mile changes and see what happens.

Take Care - Bobby

I’ve used Mobil 1 V-twin in two holes of my 13 Heritage since it was new. Mobile one gear oil in the tranny since new. The Heritage still runs as well as it did when new.

My reason for my choice of oil is strictly due to its availability at most places.

Now if you’re saying the Wal Mart oil is or was rebranded Mobile One oil, maybe that is what your concern is. Does anyone know what oil is in Wal Mart branded oil?

It used to be made by SOPUS, then they switched to Exxon for a bit, and now it's made by Warren Manufacturing. SuperTech oil is good oil.

From google.

You are fixated on this...Maybe it is because you are dense. (Cross thread points?)

Just let it go.

Spell check does that, everyone knows what it means.

Hi detergent motor oil is second choice for transmission and primary. Mainly because they have no filter.

I've heard that oil for motorcycles is formulated differently than oil for cars and trucks being that most motorcycle engines are air cooled. Something about the difference in temperature extremes in motorcycles. I go with non synthetic straights weights in the bikes because it's a bit cheaper than the motorcycle oils. I don't think it really matters that much as I change my oil every 3,000 miles instead of 5,000 miles. Always have.
