I use the Hiflofiltro because they seem to be a good value. I've been meaning to cut open a MoCo filter and a Hiflo but I'm lazy. I've got a bona-fide filter cutter but I hate using the damn thing.
I wouldn't hesitate to use any of those filters except for the Fram with cardboard endcaps. It may be fine but it looks cheap. There was talk of Fram filters coming apart and plugging piston coolers in 5.9 Cummins engines years ago and it scared me away from the brand.
These are both HD filters. One doesn't look like it was properly stamped and likely was restricting flow causing the oil to hit the bypass. How well do you think it filtered?
I've seen some Fram with incomplete stamped tube louvers. I only use Fram Endurance (was Ultra) or Royal Purple in my trucks, both synthetic media for lower restriction and high efficiency.
I only use Premium Guard on Harley for same reason.
This list tells me that most of them are just siblings of each other . Made in the same plant by the same people, that I would like to ask which 3 or 4 they like the best .
Somebody made a list of filters, and who they think makes them...
No info on that list as to which may be making filters spec`d for Harley Davidsons.
What is so difficult about simply looking up the proper filter for your machine?
Analysis Paralysis.
So should we believe or put any thought into the possibilities that there’s a difference in the way an automobile filters is made in comparison to a motorcycle filter .
That would be like saying they make a filter just for motorcycle oil and a filter just for car oil . Or that there’s an oil filter just for thin oil like 0w-20 and another type filter for heavy oils like 20w-50 .
Maybe Amsoil could construct such a special oil filter to go with their oil .

they are probably working on one and trying to make it pass their Four Ball test before they can market it and advertise it as being superior to every other brand in that regard

Amsoil sells filters on their webpage with their name on them. Are they manufactured by Amsoil, or is it just another company like Wix with their label on them?
There's a multitude of oil filter comparison videos on YouTube. Can you believe what you see? A HD filter from the 80's or 90's vs what they sell now is totally different according to one. Also, the lower end cheapo Fram filters are built completely different than an upper end one!
I use K&N. I cut them apart every oil change and each time I'm satisfied with the materials and the manner in which they're made.
If I had a unlimited source of funds I'd do my own research on every filter I could get my hands on. Oh wait, there's already videos on that.

So are these proprietary oil filters that are only supposed to be used for their oil ? And now we definitely have to get one , and cut it open asap . To compare it to the top-of-the-line Harley filter and a K&N filter .
