Those temperatures are flash points, and if you come anywhere near them your motor is already toast. Look up in the top section where there are some posts that show the additive package differences. My own opinion is there is not enough difference in these two oils to justify the price difference. But to each his own ...
I think you're right. Three MC mags have tested oil in the past few years and all concluded the 15w50 "car" variant is every bit as good as the MC-specific 20w50. It's also much cheaper and more readily available.
I went to Walmart and 2 auto supply discount stores, trying to find Mobil 1 V-Twin oil. They all had the regular Mobil 1, 15W50, but they didn't have the V-Twin 20W50 oil. I think I will forget about using the V-Twin oil, if it requires a scavenger hunt every time I need some. It sounds like the 15W50 Mobil1 is good enough.

I read a post months back that said the V-twin oil actually had less anti-friction additives in it. Reason being isyou could use it in the primary and not have the wet clutch slip.
