Okay, so if the dealer is about a 30 minute drive and I'm down say a liter, should I top it up to drive there for my oil change. May be all after the fact as I've rode about 300kms already with the bike as is. Keep in mind the the dealer where I got it certified never said anything about a low oil level. Wonder if they even checked it???
If you have some engine oil (doesn't really matter what kind or viscosity) you can top it off if you want, but I wouldn't worry about it if it was mine. Just take it in & have the oil changed.
Have you considered doing it yourself? It's simple and you'll know it was done right...

Also I blieve the oil in down about a litre / quart, is that also normal.
Hmmmmmmmm....this really is a job that should be done byyourself. It is not difficult.Identify the correct drain plug, remove dip stick, remove drain plug, drain (hot)oil.Be careful when replacing the drain plug (don't strip it), snug is enough,eh? Obviously you'll be filling to the cold check level. On completion start bike, let idlefor (5) minutes or so..... do hot check... top up as necessary - don't overfill it!Allthis is detailed in the owner's/service manual(s). Good luck.

Are you checking the oil level with the engine warmed up, to operating temperature and the bike on the jiffy stand?
If you are checking the oil level before the engine is warmed up, you will get a low reading as mentioned, in the earlier posts.
