Default miles and temps

I read that a lot of folks use Mobil I 15-50 in their crankcase. I intend to use it myself, but am curious. You guys that use it, how many miles do you put on in a year, and what is your temperature range? I will put about 18,00 miles yearly, my temperature range will be low to mid 40s in winter to 110 plus in the summer. Is 15-50 still a good choice?

My temp conditions are close to yours. I run Mobile 1 V-Twin 20-50. Syn normally lowers operating temp about 20 degrees because of its coating ability vs dino oil. Because I have a stroker engine and subject to higher temps, I also run an oil cooler.

I run M1 15W-50, lowest temps I drive in here are upper 20's and in the summer it gets to 105+. M1 15W-50 is fine for these temps.
My bike is my daily driver & I put 10,000-12,000 miles a year on it. (So far 7000 miles in 7 months.)

This year five-thousand, but it's a shorter riding season here in the Northeast. I change it every five-thousand miles.

When I was the Road Captain for my chapter I put on between 20,000 - 30,000 a year. I used the M1 15w-50 most of those miles, and usually changed beetween 2500 - 3500 miles. Now I'm just using THE MAMA's Nightster for commuting while making some changes to the Sloptail, and am using the same oil in it. I changed at 1,000 miles from the factory fill, and again at 2500 miles. I'll change at 2500 on this next one, too. The oil in it now will have an analysis done on it just top see what's going on with the engine, and how the oil is retaining its viscosity and TBN.
