I have heard that by switching from dino to synthetic oil your engine will be more noisey. What I mean by that is you hear more noise from the inner workings of the engine (lifters etc.). Is this true?? I would think if you are using the same weight oil there should'nt be any added engine noise. To me if your engine is running noisier it would seem that you are not getting good lubrication. Anyone have any comments on this?? I know I'll hear those Amsoil guys saying that Amsoil is the next best thing to sliced bread!
WHAT? CANT HEAR YA! I just put synthetic oil in my scoot and it's loud as he11! Seriously, I think that most of what you hear from people is that they change to synthetic, about the same time that the motor gets "Loosened up" and broken in. These engines should sound like a sewing machine ( literally ) when they get right. They are almost silent when new, but they usually start sounding off by 1,000-1,500 miles. Apparently, thats when most people swap to synthetic....
I think in my experiences it is the opposite of what you say here. It seems quieter but in any event the advantages far outweigh the disadvantage if there was one.
