Default Motul 7100

I'm planning on doing my own oil change soon. Just wondered if anyone has used this type of oil Motul 7100 20W50. I really wanted the Mobil V-Twin, but it is unavailable overhere in Italy. The auto part store overhere says it is formulated to Harley's specs.

I just took a look at the Amsoil white sheet page, and as far as comparing it to Motul they used motul 7100 in their tests. I don't know if thats the same stuff over where you are but, it held up pretty good compared to Amsoil. As long as it's the correct weight for the temperature where your at ,I would use it.,,,

Thanks for your input, I think I'll go for the Motul. They also have a Valvoline Durablend 20W50 for Motorcycles, but I think it's a synthetic blend.

I would use the Valvoline after checking it because it meets the API CF designation and that is not shown on the Motul. Harley calls for the CF standard in the owners manual. Do not use it in the primary.

Motul: Meets API SL/SH/SG Jaso MA. For 4 stroke cycles with catalytic converters. Ester technology improves engine response. Low sulfer and phosphorus formula.

Valvoline: API SM/SL CF 20W-50

Thanks KBFXDLI!

You know I've always had good luck with Valvoline in the past, I think I'll stick with them. I don't let my oil go over 2,000 miles anyway.

I was going to give you my opinion, but I think I already did over on BITOG.

CF is API designation for diesel engine oils
https://www.api.org/products-and-ser...s#tab-gasoline
so Motul should work just fine
