The stuff i put in the trans was the Amsoil severe gear 75w-140. Is that the wrong stuff? It doesnt mention for motorcycle use, just heavier vehicals like big 4x4's Rv's and towing. Could this be the problem??
I doubt it but I wouldn't use Amsoil for a few reasons. I would use a product made for the trans to start with whether it's the problem or not.
It is scientificly proven that synthetic oil lowers engine tempurature by 10-15 degrees vs. dino oil. Your bike is not dialed in right if it is running hotter. I would check your tuner and reload the map or even try an alternative map. Maybe the PC is defective? It happens. I run Mobil 1 15-50 in the motor, 10-40 in the primary, and 75-90 in the tranny and my bike runs as cool as an air cooled engine can run.
I changed from Harley syn 3 synthetic to Amsoil 20-50 synthetic, so the temps should have stayed the same or gotten cooler. The bike was running fine from March until the end of Sept during the hottest months with the same tune. The bike only started running hotter after an oil and filter change and changing the trans cable and fluid.
I'll start with the filter and report back if it fixed the issue or not. I need to make a trip to a dealer that i know had redline with shockproof but its a good 3 hour drive.

There is no way it's the tranny oil. Lotsa guys use Amsoil with no issues. I use Bel-Ray 75w140 in the gears and it's fine. You don't have to drive 3 hours to get decent gear oil. Any GL-1 to 5 will work.
i think peppi hit the nail on the head with the stage1 download. That would be my first guess since the brand of oil you use is highly unlikely to be the cause of your heat issues unless it's something cheap and should not be used in the first place.
my 2nd guess would be the K&N filter. My limited understanding is they are more restrictive than the HD filters but its also the least expensive avenue to take in troubleshooting...

K&N is less restrictive than an HD filter and would lean a mixture out.
I went through all the heat stuff this past summer and ended up spending $600 bux on an oil bud cooler.
I was getting 300 degrees on the oil temp gauge in the fairing, which I was thought was just a tad hot, if ya know what I mean.
The moco knows that the 96'ers and above run hot and just shrug their shoulders and say, "yeah they run hot."
That was even w/a stage 1 PC-V from F/M, ness A/C and rineharts.
They (oil bud)say that they'll get 35 degrees cooler and they do that and more.
I switched to Amsoil at 2 K too, but now I notice that the motor is running a little noiser on the top end.. May switch to Red Line next time.
