Draining transmission fluid when cold?

Draining transmission fluid when cold?
OK, the bike is stored for the winter now, resting peacefully on the lift. I would like to change out the tranny fluid over the winter, but don't want to fire it up to warm up the fluids (I don't want the condensation thing happening to the oil).
So my question is: can I drain the tranny fluid while cold or will it not drain well or completely? The manual doesn't address this. My garage will be about 40 degrees, so assuming fluid would be the same.

Sure, remove the fill plug, then remove the drain plug and let it drain for a few hours. If you have redline shockproof heavy let it drain a few days 
. Eventually it will all drip out of the trans. Then refill and you are done.

+1 better keep it in the house until right before you pour it in. You will understand why when you pour it in for the first time. I have a long cone funnel that fits into the trans fill hole. I stick the funnel in and dump the SPH in there and turn the bottle upside down and leave it in the funnel for an hour or two to empty it all.
