I can't ride today ,it snowed last night but anyway I want to change the transmission fluid I usually do it with the fluid warmed up. Anyone change the fluid cold?
bike is in a heated garage? *****!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
seriously.
Just change the oil as normal.
Let drip for ten minutes after flow stops.
Put plug in, refill then go ride. ohhhhhhh wait it's snowing, read the first line!!! again lol!!
I recently changed my trans. to Red Line Shockproof. Garage was warm. Outside was snow. I just let it drain a lot longer and then poured about a 1/2 qt of SYN 3 I had leftover through it also to help chase out anything that might be laying around. Then let that drain a long time too. Then put the Red Line in until it started to run out the drain and put the plug in and filled it to the proper level. I will run it for a hundred miles or so and then change it again while it is warmed up. The price of the wasted oil is still much cheaper than a new trans. BTW I love the difference the Red Line made in the sound & feel of my trans.
