I ride an 06 883 low, clocked 1000 miles on it about a month ago took it in for its service like a good boy, brought it home and parked it for a a while, (inclimate weather) then it warmed up so I did what anyone would do, went for a good long ride. I got home and oil all over the pipes, and all over the oil tank cover, and in the air cleaner assmebly. Did the dealer's flavor of the month oil change tech screw it up and put too much in? Thanks for any responses.

Uh,are you going to check the oil level yourself to find out?

Sounds like an overfill to me. Check it hot on the jiffy stand. Allow 3-4 miutes after you shut it off for the oil to drain back into the tank. Should be between the 2 marks on the dipstick. If it's too high siphon some out with a turkey baster or similar device.
