2009 Ultra with 103 kit. Stock clutch spring. ~35,000 miles or so.
Last oil change I used Valvoline Full Synthetic Racing Oil 20/50 in the engine and primary. The blue stuff.
After about 2000 miles it started slipping under full throttle in 5th and 6th gear. Never noticed anything in the other gears. Thought I needed a clutch, took it to the shop and they just put in the extra-power spring and regular primary case lubricant. No problems now, $124 education.
Now I wish I had the stock spring back, but at least I'll never slip again.
Valvoline says do not use this oil in primary (now I researched it, did not before).
I had a similar problem with other synthetic oils in the primary, switched to Harley fomula + and problem went away. Called Valvoline and was informed the same thing, not to use the syn in the primary, too slippery. In the engine in performs great, have recently switched to Red Line oils and do not use in primary only engine and Transmission. Best so far.
