Default Engine light
When I depress the start switch (2003 Road King) the engine light comes on for a few seconds then turns off. A few seconds later it comes back on and stays on for about 5 to 7 seconds. I do not start the engine until the light goes off. Is this a problem?

check for diagnostic codes

Try using your key and lock up the ignition. I found this helps with issues related to yours.
