Moble 1 V-twin. Less expensive, and from all the reports and posts from folks with experience with this oil, it's the way to go. Both in the engine and tranny.
So Mobile 1 V-Twin 20W-50 in the oil...what about the other 2 wholes? By the way, what are the other 2 holes? (stupid question I know but have always had someone else do the maintenance for me until I found HDF and figure I can do it myself).

(2) Transmission, and (3) Primary Gear Case....The clutch and primary chain live there.
I am currently running SYN-3 in all three, but thats about to change. Amsoil or Mobile-1 20-50 in the engine, and a synthetic 75 weight...probably Amsoil in the transmission. Need to do a little more research on here regarding the Primary.
Get a service manual for your bike and do it yourself. It's easy and satisfying and you'll save some bucks and you'll knowit's done right.
Mobil1Vtwin 20w50 for the engine, Redline Shockproof Heavy Synthetic gear oil in the trans, Redline MTL in the Primary. For Sportsters you want a 20w50 synthetic in the engine and 75w90 synthetic gear lube in the shared trans/primary. Check synthetics at www.amsoil.com or www.redlineoil.com and yes they are much better. If you need amsoil there are 2 guys here who can hook you up sedbiker62 and bear.
