Default Bad Synthetic Experience
I've heard all the good stuff about going from Syn 3 to Mobil 1 and Amsoil. Anyone had a BAD experience in making such a change? I always ask the contrarian questions,

Only bad thing you could expect is to have a little less cash in your wallet, but expect a big smile in return for that!

No bad experiences here. Actually, I can get Mobil 1 V-twin at Wallyworld cheaper than Syn3 at the Harley shop.

Just bought some and in 200 miles the Syn 3 goes out and the Mobil V Twin goes in. Been using Mobil 1 in all my other vehicles for years so might as well put it in the scoot.

Just put Royal Purple 20w 50 in yesterday. Will be interesting to see if bike acts or sounds differently. Couldn't beat the price at 21 bucks for the case. Don't know what I will use after this is gone.

I just had my 1M mile service on my Heritage, had them put in the Syn3. When I picked up the bike they said its not good to change brands once you put one in. Sounds like alot of you know what. Any opinions on this?

It most certainly is a bunch of bull they are handing you. It can be swapped from dino to syn ans syn to syn without any problems. The syn 3 in the trans should be replaced with a gear lube IMHO.Also the Mobil 1 V Twin is a better choice than the syn 3 for a motor oil. Many including myself have noticed quieter running , cooler temps and a smoother engine .

Horrible experience with Mobil 1 VTwin 20w50 when I had to pay $11.00 a quart for the stuff!!!!!

Hopefully I will be able to find it cheaper next time.
