How beneficial would an oil cooler be to a V-Twin being driven in Eastern Canada with moderate to cool temps and few if any bumper to bumper traffic jambs lasting more than 15 min ?
If you would recommend a cooler would one like the Pro-one units offered here ht tps://www.denniskirk.com/search/oil+coolers.q/40.ipp be any good ? I own the breakout you see pictured and would just as soon avoid the "radiator" look if indeed a cooler is the way to go.
For your climate and riding conditions I wouldn`t think you would need any extra oil cooling. However, where I live and ride that`s another matter...
I agree with "GasPipe". I put one on mine because traffic here in the DFW is murder and by the time I would get home from work on a hot day my synthetic lube would register 240 to 260.
I use one, not sure it is needed as I only have a couple of weeks of hot weather. Mainly have it for the peace of mind from my air-cooled VW days. I'm using the HD oil cooler with thermostat.
