Default Done! Oil temp is installed

Done! Oil temperature install on a 2007 Harley Ultra Classic. Well it turns out I had my knickers knotted up over nothing. For the past week I have been searching the Internet almost nonstop looking for info on this install. Essentially all you are doing is swapping the ambient air temperature sensor for an oil temperature sensor. And installing a gauge calibrated to the new sensor, oil temperature. Unplug the air sensor, plug in the oil sensor cable into the fitting you just removed off the air temperature sensor. That connection is the elusive 107 connector that I have been looking for all week. Installing the gauge in the faring can be a little tricky. I removed the fuel gauge which is really easy to do. It opened up the work area quite a bit. And I removed the bright metal brace that a couple of connectors are attached to. I still had quite a few loose wire bundles that were in the way, I used a long tie wrap to pull them up out of the way, working by yourself you sometimes run out of hands. I gotta say the fairing removal, something else I had not been looking forward to, was a piece of cake. My old '93 bagger was a real PITA when it came to removing the fairing, this one I can get off in less than 15 minutes, back on is a little more, but still easy. My only problem right now, I can't get the oil filter off, (open to suggestions) all the cups and generic filter gizmos just slide around the filter, I tried a strap wrench that I use on the skid steer, but it's too big, so tomorrow it's off to the hardware store. It's true, no job, whatever it is, always requires 3 trips to the hardware store.
