Default Total knee replacement today

I delayed this surgery due to job commitments. It’ s done now and I can’t tell you how good feels great. It was bone on bone the last 6 months. It was hell . I absorb pain well but but I reached my limit with the knee. If your looking into this surgery go for it. Surgery at 1030 and walked out with walker at 330. Still pretty much pain free at 8 pm now. I know it will wear off. I’m going to try Tylenol instead of the Percocet they gave me.

Wife had hers done and says if the other one fubars it’s getting done as well. My left one is getting there. Reason I bought a trike. Follow all the therapy and stretches and you will do great. Therapy will make it. Friend of hers didn’t do all the therapy like she should and can barely get around.

As was said, physical therapy, PT, is critical to a successful outcome. PT hurts, really hurts. Not doing PT is crippling. I've had 2 knees done, both partial, and a hip. Get off the hard stuff quick, the rest of your body will thank you. Do the PT like the therapist say and don't try to be a super hero. You'll look back and laugh. Not really but you'll be glad you did the PT eventuality.

I had ACL reconstruction in December after a motorcycle crash. I know it's not the same but knees suck. It will get better though. In 6 weeks you'll forget how bad it is right now. Take your painkillers and don't suffer for no reason. I was really stingy with mine and there was no reason for that.

Yeah I hear you guys on the PT .This is my 2nd total joint replacement surgery along with three other knee repairs. Not a stranger to any of it but DAMNNN this one hurts. One week into it today and I feel some relief. It will be great once it heals and PT is done. Getting stronger every day.

Physical therapy, more physical therapy and then do some physical therapy ... you'll be better than new in no time

I had total hip replacement of both hips 12 years ago.
If therapy called for 10 of this or 12 of that I did twice that. Its funny, a week or two after surgery trying to get out of bed, I thought this thing is never gonna heal and feel better.

Then one day you wake up and it's like, Wow, it feels better. Then before ya know it things are great again. I was supposed to be off work for 3 to 4 months.I was back in 2. Therapy was the key. Mine were soo bad that I had worn 3 holes into my pelvis on one side and 2 on the other. Twelve years later and I still feel great. I had a really doctor.

I'm almost 2 years in on the new right knee.
There were some really difficult days during the first couple weeks and rehab hurt like hell, and even though my mobility isn't back to 100%, I'm no longer in constant pain; and I wasn't running hurdles before anyway.
I would do it again if needed, without hesitation.

Good luck on your recovery.

At the 9th month of my second TKR.
I still do PT, 2-3 times a week.
Motion is lotion.
