Bear vs. Motorcyle in New Hampshire
From a local paper today:
A local businessmanis stable condition two days after a mother bear and two cubs lumbered onto Route 25 in Ossipee and in front of his motorcycle. Doug Fagone, 53, the chief operating officer of the landmark North Conway lumber yard (Chicks), Tuesday suffered a serious head injury, the extent of which was unclear. His bike was totaled and the mother bear was killed, said Ossipee police of the 4 p.m. crash. They said there was no way Fagone had time to stop. Friends back home were pulling for Fagone, a respected business leader, ski instructor and Conway family man.
I have seen moose and deer accident victims but this is a new one for me.

Thoughts and prayers headed toward the victim.
I've never seen fast-moving bears in the wild, but, having had enough deer experience and stories in my time, I can imagine how terrible it must be.
Fall's coming and wildlife with it. Be alert out there.
