I left the Edgewaterat 9:15am, whenI gotto the accident where thebike was, only the CHP was there standing on the side of the road.
On Friday we we rode to Oatman/Topock/Kingman.
went to hotrod cafe and it didn't look very live, I guess we got there to early. we ended up crossing the street and eating at the steakhouse. by the time we came out bikes were starting to show up at the cafe.
MrFatty2U and I left Harrah's about 9:30. By the time we reached the accident, an ambulance and Firetruck were there. The bike was still laying on its side in the ditch. Didn't see the rider(s), but I was trying to avoid becoming another accident, so there might have been more. Saw the folks pulled over on the right side. Might have been part of the vic's group.
Once we got into the open rode and hit 80 mph, just ahead of the pickup ahead of me, a coyote decided to run across the hwy. It came from the median going to the right, so it had already made it across the other side of I40. Had it stalled just a little longer, it could have been me tangled up in it. I was lucky, almost as lucky as the coyote.
What would you do if the coyote had darted in front of you? Plow through?
Well, when riding in the dirt, the rule I follow is "When in trouble, lean back and GAS IT".
I dont know that, that would be the best choice in your senerio. At 80+, the swerve could be dangerous too. Im affraid my instint would be to lean back and GAS IT!!
When we went by they were loading the bike on a wrecker. We stopped at Newberry Springs and the people there said a helicopter was involved...............that's usually not a good thing? Obviously there were extensive injuries if a chopper was called.
