Anyone know the details? On our way back home Sunday morning from the Riverun there was a motorcycle down on the side of I40 going west bound, bike looked pretty bad all smashed up, a single police car was on site but I didnt see anyone. Anyone know the details? I hope and pray the drivers ok. Made me think twice about speeding home today....
No. My group didnt see anything. We tool the Amboy exit, so we were not on the 40 for very long. Hopefully, whatever happened, no one was hurt too bad. I heard there was a lot of traffic on the 40W due to all the construction. Maybe that had something to do with it?
We left by 730AM, so there wasnt too much traffic the way we went.
No sorry nothing here, we pulled out at 7:15am and took Route 66 all the way until a few miles from the 15 Interchange to avoid all that traffic.
I hope the rider/passanger was not injured too seriously
I do not think it could have been any HOTTER !!!!!!! in Laughlin this weekend
The was a backup for a good 20 miles from the construction by the time I got there around 2:30 pm. Maybe we had a residual effect. About 500 bikes decided to ride the shoulder instead of splitting lanes and we could ride about 45 mph vs 20 or under splitting between the semi/motorhome crowd.
20 Miles of back-up!? Jezuz!
I'm glad we went the way we went, and stayed off of the 40!! Including gas, breaks, and lunch only took about 4-5 hours to get home to Hemet on Sunday morning.
Where abouts on the I40? I didn't see anything. Went through around 11ish then hit the traffic. Lane split and shouldered, could have been a lot worse! The bike was all smashed up?? Doubt if that happended from lane splitting. Maybe he didn't see the traffic stopped ahead in time?

RE: Bike down Laughlin Riverun
Saw that. The bike was in the ditch and didn't look good. Several bikes were already parked on the shoulder as we passed by. One of the guys with us later said he saw a rider being attended to and one of his legs looked ground down and opened up pretty bad.
