Two of my friends & I are riding out from Alabama to Vegas for Bike Fest in September. We will make the pacific coast, and are planning on a stop in San Diego. We also plan to ride the Pacific Coast Highway between San Diego & LA. Are there any other short rides between the 2 places that would be beneficial and memorable?
Sticking to the coast between SD and LA is always a great ride. Awesome scenery along the coast. Just check a map of the coastal towns and that will keep you busy (Del Mar, Cardiff, Encinitas, Oceanside, Dana Point, etc...)
Form SD there is some great in land riding into the mountains if you were interested in that. Mapquest "Julian" and that will show you a bunch of surrounding roads an areas for inland cruising.
Since you are riding inland from Alabama to LV.... hitting the coast will be a nice change of pace... enjoy!
