I was out in Nevada (from Chicago) this weekend riding out in the Desert.
I got pulled over by Nevada Highway Patrol on a sideroad doing 72 in a 55[sm=bustedsign.gif]
Got lucky and the officer wrote me for 60 in a 55, so the question is does anyone know what a 5 over ticket is going to cost me in Nevada.
Tattoo: The citation should have a box filled out with the "Bail" amount. That is what you pay if you mail the citation and payment back in to the court. If you return to Court for the Initial Arraignment and plead "Guilty with an Explanation" depending on the Judge it usually goes down considerably.
Which Court were you cited into? Some of the back water jurisdictions will stick pretty close to the original bail amount. Also, a Speeding Citation for no more than 5 mph over is usually called a "Misuse of Energy" citation. They are hardly ever over $47; the minimum citation amount in Nevada, but again depending on the Judge could go as high as that originally issued "Bail" amount. PM me if you need further help. ................. Big Cholla (LEO)
Yep, If you got cited in a rural part of thecounty and the trooper cited you for the waste of energy cite and not the straight speed ticket it will be about $50.00 but, if he cited you under the basic speed law then it is $190.00 for 1 to 10 over. Into a county justice court it would be reduced to $90.00 if paid prior to the due date. So, without knowing exactly what court your cited into and for what it's hard to tell. Best $50.00worst $190.00. Good luck.
