Attention: Official results of Laughlin Ride Delima
No body could make up their mind what to do, when to do it or how to organize the run.
Said I will do my own thing.
Made reservations for Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat at the Riverside. Bought the package deal from Bakersfield HD and added Wed night.
I get off Wed morning at 8:00 and we will head out around 10:00 for Laughlin. East on 58 to Barstow and then on the 40 to Needles. Hope to see many of you fellow HDF people there.
Yeah, that would be real cool if some of us could meet up somewhere in Laughlin to grab a drink or even go for a putt somewhere..................I wouldn't object to an official HDF meeting at Dream Girls!!!!!
Wife and I are heading down Thursday, and will probably head to Vegas then down 95 and into Laughlin from that direction. Figure to be in Henderson around 11:30-12:00noon for a fuel stop. We opted to stay at Harrahs and take in thier concert line up. We would love to hook up with other members and take a nice putt, and just hang out.
We are definatly going! As soon as the packages opened up, I was able to jump on it. We leave LA. Wed morning early and staying at the Harrah's. Its just me and another biker brother riding, but I have a few friends rolling in the truck (they dont ride....yet!) Hey some body needs to carry the luggage.
Only 26 more day's till the river run... going with some friends staying at an RV park in Bullhead City.
Will be there for one week starting 25 April and coming home 1 May. Hope to get alot of riding in and seeing all the sites.
Wife and I and another couple have rented an RV to dry camp. Heading down that Thursday. Girls are driving the RV while my friend and I ride. Our turn to drive on the way back which is a good time to nurse a hangover. Wind in the face is usually a good cure though.
We're going to try to make it if I can get the bike completely done in time. We'll probably ride down from northern Utah to St. George on Tuesday and then ride in to Laughlin on Wedneday morning. We may end up trailering to St. George late Tuesday evening if my buddies can't get the day off to ride early. Either way it should be quite the ride on the Bob!
Also, how hard is it to get a camp spot there? We just planned on riding in with some sleeping bags, buying a cheap tent, and finding a spot (if possible).
Basic: On the Arizona side of the Colorado River just above Davis Dam is a marina/boat launch area called Katherine's Landing. There is a tent camping spot there, but it is first come, first serve and has a slight fee. It won't be much more than 3 or 4 miles from Laughlin. If it is full, come back up Nevada State Route 163 to a point about 1/2 way between Laughlin and US 95. There is a huge gravel borrowpit there that people camp in. The pit surface is decomposed granite and is great for street bikes. .......... BC
