Just got back from trip down the OR coast. The comments from members were right on! Traffic was slow through small towns, wet in the morning that burned off by afternoon, and not many RV's (whew)! Spent time in Cannon Beach, Tillamook, and Lincoln City. Found out that if you want good cigars visit the Liquor Stores.
I am soo jealous already. The wife and I followed that route while on vacation. Soo much to see and so many places to stop for photo ops.
Did you have lunch at Tillamook or at least an ice cream.
We stayed one night in Oregon as we made our way south to San Diego.
At the Oregon Dunes we found a Thousand Trails at the South Jetty and tent camped there.
Did Oregon a few weeks ago, Met up with people in Bend, went through Mnt. Hood ,to Colombia River Gorge, to Vancouver, then over to the coast to Tillamook , down to Florence, (best lunch of the trip at the International Cfood Market ICM) then to Crater Lake, Klamath Falls, then home to Chico, Ca. Awesome trip, about 1400 miles and the weather was all good. Crater Lake

SOCALHD, we did stop at Tillamook and had an ice cream, that's quiet a place. Let a buddy of mine who had a brain tumor removed last spring ride my RK Classic while I rented a stock one from Seattle. We stayed in a Yurt in Ilwaco, then tented at Cape Lookout. He could only go about 50 miles or so and would then need to rest. Next year plan on going with some of my regular riding buddies and plan to hammer the entire Ore coast . . . if the weather's decent we may push it to SoCal!

Two weeks ago my riding buddy and I did the same Oregon run but backwards. We live in Portland, so we when to Mt. Hood then to Bend, Crater Lake, Union Creek, Grants Pass, Jacksonville then on to the Redwoods in Crescent City, then up Hwy 101 to Newport then on to Portland the last day. We made it a smell the roses kind of trip. Stopped a lot, took pics, shot some pool and of course had to check out Stars Cabaret in Bend. Were gone for 5 days, but it felt like we were only gone for 3. We met several couples on their way to Sturgis which made it even harder to come home and go back to work. There was one issue on the road. A truck passed us after we left Timberline Lodge on Hwy26 and the owners dog slipped out of the cab and my riding buddy about went down swerving to miss the dog. My riding buddy insisted we take a 70 mile detour and see Fort Rock? Glad we did. Its 35 miles east of Bend on Hwy 31. Its and old volcano.
