Laughlin River Run
I stayed there last year (full disclosure - only 2nd time in my life every stayed at Harrahs as I live / work overseas). They were biker friendly in 2009; covered parking if you wanted, very secure, wash/dry facilities, I thought it was a good place to stay at the edge of town; could get out onto the road v quickly.
Secured covered parking. You were only allowed in with a wrist band and wrist band was checked to match bike on exit. The secured parking is at extra cost. But well worth it.
Free uncovered parking thru-out.
They also have VIP biker parking all along the front of the hotel, so you see some very nice bikes walking in and out.
As Oldun mentioned, the hotel is a bit seperated at the edge of town. No unwanted foot traffic out front.
Downside to this is it would be a bit of a hike if you want to just walk to other hotels or the big vendor area's.
There is a good bar close to the Harrah's. I can't think of the name of it.
The pool and beach area's are very nice. Have stayed there on other than bike weekends as well.
Couple years ago we saw Cheap Trick perfom in their outdoor stage. That was pretty cool.
I'll be there working the show. At least you'll get to drink.
I'm staying at Harrahs this year, too. It is a nice facility with a covered parking structure, plus you can book two nights instead of the obligatory 3 nights some hotels mandate. I'm going up Thursday and leaving Saturday. Rates are standard fare- Maybe $120 for Thursday and Friday night? My dad booked the rooms for us, but I had checked on the Harrahs website and you can book rooms there.
Damn! a month and a half and no responses on this thread. Wow last year everyone was geeked up for the run!!!! **** I would do a countdown again but I have no idea how many days.........40 something?!?!?!
38 days for me. I'm heading out morning of the 19th. Was just going over some of our plans today with a buddy of mine.
I was out there last weekend. Weather was niiiiice !!
