I will be there. I will arrive Tuesday night and leave Friday. The vendors are required to be set up Wednesday morning. Last year the casinos are starting to see that there are attendees arriving early and have started to do stuff on Thursday and Friday. I will leave early and miss all of the crowds and junk.

My dad booked the rooms for us, but I had checked on the Harrah's website and you can book rooms there.
Were you there last year? Harrah's had the Parking lot by the doors blocked off and charged $50 to park there. They claimed that it was a secure parking lot, guarded 24 hours a day. If you looked at the form you had to sign when you registered for the parking, it said that they were not responsible for any damage or loss to your vehicle when parked there. I watched the guards. They just made sure that the only ones that parked there were paid to park. They didn't watch the bikes.
I parked in the parking structure and chained it to friend's bikes. It made it hard to steal when there are 3 or four bikes chained together.
I've parked my bike right in front of the hotel ( Edgewater ) overnight, no lock, parked for free.
Also have had it chained up to other bikes in the parking structure.
Also had it in a trailer overnight in a parking lot 1/2 mile away...
Which one was safest?
Guess if you have something worth the trouble stealing, then you may have a worry.
Thursday morning to Sunday night for me and friends... we're taking scenic routes such as 66 and others and we'll be taking our time.... still doing 88, but taking our time about it ;-)
We're doing the El Cheapo special: Ride in Wednesday.
Do the vendor stuff. See the beautiful models at the booths while they are still fresh and friendly.
Spend the night for $39. Get up Thursday. See anything we may have missed.
Checkout at noon and head to Vegas. Hit up the Hash House a Go Go for some monster eats.
Spend Thursday night in Vegas. $39 again.
Head home late morning Friday. Save cash on rooms. No party animals in our group so no crowds will be missed.
Home with 2 more days of the weekend left.
I don't call it el Cheapo. I have been going on Tuesday and leaving Thursday or Friday for the last several years. I would leave on Thursday because I couldn't get the room comped for Thursday night. But for last year the Tropicana offered me the weekend free with concert ticket, Free t-shirts and free drawing tickets. i couldn't stay over the weekend, so the comped me Tuesday - Thursday nights. So far I have only received Tuesday and Wednesday nights comped. I am still waiting for the Tropicana to send me the comps for April. I am planing to be there Thursday night. If I can't get the comp, I will leave Thursday afternoon.
May Be you will see my Road Glide. It is the one in my signature.
We are heading to Laughlin via 15 through Silverwood, Hesperia, High Desert, stop by Pioneer town for a brewski, through Yucca, 29 Palms and Joshua Tree, through Amboy (Route 66) with another stop at the Palms for a brewski and tacos. Great ride with great friends. Can't wait!
I have been to Dick's several times. Its good food about the same as any themed restaurant. Their theme is that the servers have an attitude. They brag about free salt and pepper and the matchbooks have topless women(or used to). I would rather eat hot dogs at Mermaids Downtown.
I lived in Vegas for a few years. One year I rode back and forth, it was so dang windy I was exhausted by the time I got to Laughlin. Next year I stayed in Kingman closer than Vegas, but cheaper than Laughlin. Kingman also has alot of (Screw Laughlin) events. Check out Mother Road HD and the Old town of Oatman on Route 66. Last year I stayed in Laughlin at the Edgewater. I really enjoyed hitting the vendor areas early and taking a ride. Then I would rest up for the bands at night. Sam Morrison was a favorite.
I have moved back home to Texas so I won't be there this year. If the rallies here aren't all that I will make a yearly trip for the River Run. I made the ride to Texas.
Check out Mother Road HD and the Old town of Oatman on Route 66.
Lately Oatman has had an Anti-Biker attitude. They passed a No Colors ordinance and it included even HOG patches and the Harley Davidson Back Patch that Harley sells in the stores. They brought in outside LEO to enforce the rules. If you had anything on your back, you were stopped and "Inspected" to make sure you were in compliance with the Law. And we know what that was all about.
