I'm looking to replace my well-travelled head-to-toe black leather with an Aerostich R3 Stealth
Aerostich stuff is very well made. For some reason though it's kinda lost it's luster to the more trendy brands. I have some Aerostitch stuff from the 90's, hasn't failed me yet. I love not having to pack a rainsuit or even stop when the heavens let loose. I don't have any experience with the newer lines, but based on my experience with their products, I think you would be more than happy with it.
But does the Aerostich fit into a 2013 SG hard bag? (grin) My recollection is Klim are mainly two-piece, which sort of negates that question. I have jacket/chaps now and they easily fit in two bags. lol But I'm leaning toward the one-piece; I only wear just the jacket when I'm -not- riding, and it seems simpler to manage one piece than two. If the Aerostich doesn't fit it may be Klim is the "better" choice.
I suppose I could just buy one and if it doesn't fit return it, but that's not how I roll. I will only return something if it's defective, and failing to fit into the hard bag doesn't qualify as Aerostich's defect. It's my defect for not learning more before purchase.
For the summer I sport a mesh sedici adventure jacket and pant if im going off road or on a long trip with the waterproof/warming liners in a bag. If its really hot I'm very sinful and only wear a knox urbane shirt, 100% bicycle gloves and a helmet.
if its colder or I'm going on a stupid long trip I have an Alpinestars andes v3 set that hasn't failed me yet in terms of riding into ridiculous torrents, falling offroad and even sleeping in the thing. Its hot as heck but you'll get use to it.
Boots are Alpinestars corozal and helmet is scorpion exo at950
I have the Aplinestars Andes and the Meta. both are excellent (hold 5 h of massive rain), much better than my previous BMW dress. Trouser is Büse textile with goretex removalble liner and leather application on the knees, also with massive knee+hip protectors. As th best compromise for riding and walking I use "Meindl" Goretex mountan walking boots(~250), The lasted 6 years and I could buy the exact same set of shoes again, so I am OK for the next 6 years. The prevous BMW motorbike boots were worn out after 2 years, same price and not comfortable.
