I have to use the cruise control to keep my speed down. Otherwise, I look down and I'm cruising comfortably in the mid 90's.

But this is my first bike so I don't have comparison.
I'm not kidding. It runs great at 95+ mph. To me, it feels extremely stable. Dangerously so in fact - I have looked down at times and found myself doing well over 110 mph without really noticing it.

With the big alu side cases, you feel the wind resistance more though.

Don't think it's just down south. Here in Norcal I80 is posted at 65mph but everyone thinks the name of the interstate IS the minimum speed limit. I can't tell you how many times I'm doing 75mph and people are blowin past me. They have to be triple digits.

in the San Diego area. As opposed to the LA basin, our traffic does lighten up in the off commute times. And it seems people go as fast as they can until they encounter a slower vehicle.

I typically set the speed control at 85 ish when in the HOV lane. Even then people come up on me, and swing out around and back in front. But, with all the rough surfaces, uneven joints, and debris…85 is enough.

Was just going to ask about how the aluminum cases feel.

Update; So today I was traveling down Interstate 83. Not too far from the York PA. Harley assembly plant. Posted speed limit was 65 the bike felt very good. maybe at 80+ oncoming turbulence would catch under my helmet if I turned my head tor far left or right.

I guess that will depend on your height, your helmet and the screen height. I am short at 5'8", wear a Schuberth C4 Pro and with the stock screen at full height I have no issues at all. The wind hits the top inch or two of the helmet and is quite noisy (so I wear ear plugs at speed), but zero turbulence. I keep my head on a swivel at all times and constantly scan left and right.

I'm basically the same height, wearing a Schuberth C5 and ride stock screen at full extension.
On the highway I'm using either the Decibullz - very comfortable but not as quiet as the Etymotic. With the Etymotic with the foam tips - very quiet but not as comfortable as the Decibullz.

80, I ride a lot at night. Keeping it below that speed feels a bit weird.

You guys have way too much faith in road conditions at that speed. Ie; pot holes, gouges, debris.
