"Tie-In Sales" Provisions
Generally, tie-in sales provisions are not allowed. Such a provision would require a purchaser of the warranted product to buy an item or service from a particular company to use with the warranted product in order to be eligible to receive a remedy under the warranty. Go to your dealer and get a new battery. They know about this problem and you shouldn't have to pay out for faulty parts.
Tell them about the problems since the last soft update. They may know a solution but more importantly if they don't know there is a problem then it will not get fixed for you or others.
That's the way it works.
There is an upgrade (mechanical) for the weak starter motor to give it more power. So go get it done. I'm waiting for mine to be fitted.
Actually I've been waiting since Jan 13th for my bike to have a new stator fitted but no parts in stock.
So in the mean time I'm riding my old 1986 Kawa GPZ1000RX and loving every minute of it. No software problems there but no heated grips or ABS either. Still I'm tempted to leave HD after more than 20 years because they can't get their act together and there is nothing in the current lineup which grabs me. And the increased price for every model is shameful.
