Take a look at the Audew jump pack on youtube. I think it came out on top of the testing. I bought one and used it several times on bikes and cars ( no mine ) and it works very well.

It's just an SAE connection and you could put whatever connector you want on the other end.
I see what you did there. Looks like a decent solution too - although the top pick looks like it comes out the top of the skid plate like mine.

As for the SAE connector - I think that's just the adaptor to let you use the connector as a trickle charge port. The wires from the SAE side are much thinner and I personally would not trust them for jump starting at all. There's another inline fuse between the battery harness and the SAE connector as well - would be interesting to see the rating of that (and yes, I have those adaptors in my garage but don't want to out there in the cold and rain right now!)

I think for any kind of high current bike starting activity, you will need to couple to the heavy gauge connector that hangs on the end of the harness wires and use heavy gauge cable. I don't know what connector it actually is, but it's probably some form of high current industry standard, so you could make up a longer cable with alligator clips for sure. But it's going to get quite bulky quite quickly. You'd probably need it to be 6' long or so to guarantee being able to connect it to another bike. So probably easier to just carry a charged jump pack anyway.... Just my $0.02 on the situation.
