Default Maintenance Required light

The Service or Maintenance required light just came on on my 21 Pan America Special. It looks like a wrench on top of the screen. I have been able to figure out it is on because Harley programs it to come on after 2 years to have your brakes flushed. Does anyone know how to reset this? It doesn't throw any codes.

There is no power button on the screen for a Pan America. This dose not work for a Pan America, but thank you for trying.

You are correct, the light is for the brake system flush that is due every 2 years. The wrench can only be reset by the service department at the dealership.

Thanks Sort of what I figured. Bull carp of early trying to force you to change brake fluid. How many of you change it in your car at 2 years? Brake fluid is 6 years old in my corvette.

Yeah- its not a great situation, but after the abs recalls Harley had- this is the way to prevent the corrosion to the ABS module. The volume of brake fluid in your bike is a lot less than in your car- but exposed to the same moisture.
im still searching for a way to do it yourself.

Brake fluid flush every 2 years OR when the moisture is over 3% (whichever comes first) is pretty standard for ABS motorcycles. What we need is a CANBUS tool that can reset the wrench light. BMW went to this several years ago (service light) for more than just the brake flush so the GS-911 tool added the service reset to the toolbox. We need something similar for the H-D Revolution Max lineup. I made a jumper to access the CAN system (the new red connector under the seat) but I lack the ability to address the modules to put them into service mode. Eventually some enterprising company will develop the necessary address set to make it work. Independent shops need this now.

I was advised that the wrench icon is only for the brake system, so it's possible to check the moisture levels and/or flush the system yourself and then live with the wrench being lit up until somebody develops a way to clear it outside of a dealership.

You are correct, the wrench is only for the brake system, specifically the brake fluid 2 year change interval.
