Last year for the E (61ci) was '51 or '52, then they went to a 74ci FLE, which was sort of a detuned (smaller carb and I believe shorter cam) motor for 'parade' and traffic duty. It could be left running on the side stand longer without overheating, such as while writing a ticket and ran very smoothly at low speeds. FL became the low compression 74ci and FLH the high compression motor. I'm pretty sure '55 was the last year for the FLE. This is off the top of my head.
