I would bet nothing is modified...just used a 65-69 primary
Something had to be changed. Motor sporocket shaft on the 49 is a tapered shaft. Motor sprocket changed mid 55 (splined) to accomadte the comepnsationg sprocket and changed again in 65 (e-start) to accomodate the e-start components. However if I recall guys would take a non-comepnsating front sprocket and mount it backwards on the motor sprocket shaft to obtain correct? alignment.
There is also the issue of the extra material that would need to go to get the inner primary placed. And I wonder if the holes align correctly or if some extra drilling on the inner primary was needed to get the primary attached to the case.
And just noticed it appears he is using an EVO 5- speed tranny? Not I gotsta know.
svshaw82...that last pic showing the top of the oil bag sure makes itr look like a Softail style oil bag.
Also looking at the same pic. is that lever and black **** part of your starter?

Here are some pics of the battery/tray as requested.
Defiantly EVO softail...so battery and dipstick will be a piece of cake.
In the first pic the battery is mounted backwards from the way it normally mounts in that oil tank...so pay attention to the pos/neg terminals when buying battery

You can bet your last dollar it does not have the tapered shaft...look at the pics...STD heads...5 speed trans...simple bolt together with the correct parts
Back in the day, there were a lot of vendors selling those kinds of tanks.
It might be HD, it might not..
Paughco, Santee,Etc.
The magazines used to be full of advertisements for "chopper parts" conversions.
You name it, it was there.
EZ rider was far from the only bike rag carrying hundreds of these advertisements

Very familiar with all those parts....but that oil tank in the pic is either an EVO softail HD tank or an aftermarket replacement...he even used the correct softail mounts with the rubber isolators.
