K...if so that begs another question. My 49 uses a tapered shaft and caged bearings, my 65 uses a splined shaft and Timken bearings. The two are not interchangeable on a stock 49 left case. Maybe the OP can provide some insight on what his pop did to make it work.

Id love to, however all I know is when I saw him last, he said "look I converted my panhead to electric start, I'm getting to old to use that kick start"

That link is flat out awesome! Thank you for sharing! That is what exactly what I've been hoping to find. Looks like it will be small enough to be tucked away nice and clean too!
Do you think the Compact Lithium one will be enough to start my dads bike?

However if I recall guys would take a non-comepnsating front sprocket and mount it backwards on the motor sprocket shaft to obtain correct? alignment.

There is also the issue of the extra material that would need to go to get the inner primary placed. And I wonder if the holes align correctly or if some extra drilling on the inner primary was needed to get the primary attached to the case.

And just noticed it appears he is using an EVO 5- speed tranny? Not I gotsta know.

svshaw82...that last pic showing the top of the oil bag sure makes itr look like a Softail style oil bag.

Also looking at the same pic. is that lever and black **** part of your starter?
I wish I could give you more details man, this was all my dads brain child, and his tricks and build went to the grave with him Also, I have figured out the black **** on the primary is the starter switch. He has the key ignition on the tank, then that switch you pull forward to start the bike.

Sweet!. How many CCAs is the Shorai? Where'd you source it? DKKustoms? And to keep it from bouncing around you might consider some type of blocks or cushion around it cuz that rigid is going to let you know about every bump in the road.

got it from Cycle Gear in Murrieta. $190. It puts out 280 CCA. Cranks the engine over no problem at all. See the pic, I used the foam blocks that came with the battery. Made it fit nice and tight. It's not going anywhere.

Just went back and looked at the pics. You are right...not going anywhere. Thanks for the info on the battery.
