Question about the "Electra Glide" badges. I thought I read somewhere that the Copyright symbol was added in '66 or so, and that a '65 badge does not have the little C. I know you are not doing a 100 pointer, but wondering if I remember this correctly and if you were aware. If I am right, guessing those emblems will cost some $$$$.

If running that fender trim, I would source the matching generator cover, they look good as a set.

Carry on, bike is looking great.

'65 front fender and trim looking great. I think the ElectraGlide script had added "C" late year '65 so depending on motor # it could be correct. I also could be wrong.

Architect, kfelt

I have heard the statement regarding the "C" on the Electra Glide script. In my years looking at 65s I have only seen one bike that did not have the "C". I can only state that that is the way I bought the bike in October of 1970 from the original owner. It had never been wrecked or down. He did however have a custom paint job done on it so maybe he replaced the emblems at that time? He was an older gentelmean at the time so I am sure he is no longer around to answer the question (even if I could locate him).

My cases are approxomately mid-year and do not have the relief for the tappet screen as well (another feature of mid to late production models for '65).

Palmers is coming out (out to print now) with his 3rd ed and it is to include 1936 and 1965 models (something not included in the first two). Be interesting to read what he has to say.

Architect...matching generator cover?

Somewhere on one of the other forums is a discussion on the scripts, wish I could find it. My '65 is a low # and does not have the "C".

the first edition 1965 has a generator with no A after the -65 and the two pols are reversed the armature is on the top of the generator and the field is at the 10 oclock position installed on the bike

Not the best example, but here is the genny cover, same ribs with black and silver. My '70 also has the air cleaner cover that matches. Would have been a 3 piece set in the late 60's:

And then the matching air cleaner insert, but I am sure you are not running this cover, but that would give you the complete 3 piece set:
