Default Stem nut thread pitch different by year?

Picked up a left-side drum 41mm front end. To my knowledge, it’s all OEM, not that it matters to me. It was missing the stem nut when I got it, so I picked up one on ebay from colony fasteners that says it replaces OEM part #45718-60. It doesn’t go past the first couple of threads without getting too tight to turn. I thought it might be that the threads were a little marred, but I can freely spin the bearing adjusting nut. The thread pitches on the nut and bearing adjuster do look to be the same, but I figured I’d ask if anyone knows whether an earlier stem nut might have a different pitch to it. Couldn’t find this with a google search. Here’s a pic of my front end from when it was loosely assembled when I got it. if it helps. Even just knowing exactly what I’ve got would be good. Thanks.

Been a while but have run into that my self with aftermarket forks - so i bought the tap and the die 1 inch 32 < that’s a guess but i can look and what we found was the tooling they used is worn out and the threads are poorly made

So you went over the existing threads with a different pitch? Sounds like a tough one to pull off.

I from memory thought the OEM thread is 1 inch 32 - i have the tools and the question is what to do - this morning i am confirming my guess when i check the tooling we have in the shop - spending a 100 bucks or more for one thread one time most wont do - but bringing the stuff to a machine to chase the threads is what might go on - the words that was a guess most would have read

the issue we find in this they did not do the job correctly in the first place

Any chance you know of a source I could look at to compare the different variations of 41mm trees/lowers? I also have another complete front end with different parts, would like to know exactly what I’m looking at with each version.

I just looked at a dealer’s vtwin catalog to compare all the different replica pics to what I was looking at here. I already forget what mine is, but it was easy to figure out that way.
