Yeah, and if it's busted I'm only out $10 return shipping... we'll see in a week or so!

I have had several of the Chinese junk ones over the years and have never had a problem with them. The one that is on the shovel i sold my brother has been on there and working for 35,000 miles. Maybe you just got a bad one ?

OEM Harley speedos, the face screws are far apart. Aftermarket ones are close together like the one pictured.

Indeed, obvious differences here. Clearly, the $30 job is aftermarket. Thanks for posting.

I frankly love the dial on yours, everything about it. The 100-mph range, the larger numerals, the crowned needle profile, the unstacked Police Special, the Harley script... Hmmm... I may tide myself over with the cheapo replacement, but think I'm going to begin keeping an eye out for an original like yours. If you see one, please let me know.

They pop up on eBay from time to time. Even if they don’t work, John Bordas usually charges around $250 to refurbish. At least he did charge around that much.

Cool, thanks. I'll keep my eyes peeled--but in the meantime we'll see if this cheap interim re-pop model works to tide me over. A $9.00 shipping charge gamble is right up my alley...

If you call John he probably has already refurbished on the shelf ready for sale, get it done in one shot. Good luck.
