I have had several of the Chinese junk ones over the years and have never had a problem with them. The one that is on the shovel i sold my brother has been on there and working for 35,000 miles. Maybe you just got a bad one ?

I frankly love the dial on yours, everything about it. The 100-mph range, the larger numerals, the crowned needle profile, the unstacked Police Special, the Harley script... Hmmm... I may tide myself over with the cheapo replacement, but think I'm going to begin keeping an eye out for an original like yours. If you see one, please let me know.
