Default Panhead "s

What is the biggest inches I can squeeze out of my 64 flf? I want to do it so it will still be able to handle it. I have 74" ironhead that has no problems with the bigger displacement so I figured I can get some more inches out of the panhead. My goal is 88" is this even possiable? I always see these big inch panhead replicas but, wouldn't I have get a different title?

You could go bigger but your motor is worth a lot more stock than it would be customized. Check with your DMV and find out what would be involved in switching motors. It might be simple matter since you already have proof of ownership of the 64. You probably could sell the original motor for more than the cost of a replica. The other plus is that the modern STD heads have bigger valves and a better intake manifold than the stock pan.

If you just want some more ***** put an S&S 80 ci set of flywheels/rods Did this on my knucklehead What a difference ! (The orig bottom end was a 61 ci) Keep the stock 74 stuff for future sale However if the 64 FLH motor is somewhat young (little miles ) leave it stock

Not to be harsh or anything but you should sell it to someone who can and will appreciate it for what it is and buy or build something that'll suit you... just my 2 cents.

Ther is no law about switching motors I am aware of. If you have all the docs for the new motor you would most likley have to have the work and ser # inspected by the police and fill out the forms. I would expect it to be much easier to legalize than a bike built from scratch,

The Title to any bike built before 1970 goes with the motor. 1970 and later bikes are titled off the frames. If you take that motor out of that frame and put a different motor in that frame, a new S&S, or any motor that was built after 1969, You have to title it with the new motor. You can not use the title to that 64 in your new build. If you could, what would happed when you sold that motor to me and I tryed to title it?
