1930-1954 Big Twins (#24001-30) and 1956-1964 Big Twins (#24001-56)
The motor sprocket shaft was changed to use 2 large diameter Timken bearings. End of the shaft is splined to take a compensating sprocket. The taper at the end of the flywheel end is larger and the left case was changed to accept the larger bearings.
You must use the LH flywheel, the new style shaft and the left hand case as a set. 'Course this means modifying the oiling system slightly.
So I guess the short answer is no unless you run a later case (which means it is no longer a true 49)
