Had a problem with vibration from the motor on my 2005 softail deluxe with an 88 B motor. Problem has ended up being the sprocket on the drive shaft that drives the counter balance.
Harley doesn't sell just the gear so I need to find either just the gear or a bad driveshaft that has a good gear that I can pull off.
Any ideas on where I can find one would be appreciated.

That sprocket is an interference press fit on the pinion shaft; it has shifted causing the imbalance and vibration. Big job to repair; lower unit has to come out, split cases, etc. There is probably nothing wrong with the sprocket, it has just shifted from the original balance index location. Put it back to that location and spot weld, reassemble and good to go. However, welding on the crank can tweak the crank and an experience welder should do the job and crank runout checked after. Check the link for some pictures that might clear things up.
It is the pinion shaft sprocket, it has a broken tooth so I have to replace it.
I can't find a part number to just order it. I called Harley and they told me it's part of the flywheel assembly which they want $1100.00 for. Don't think so.

Sorry to hear the bad news. There are take out cranks available, just have to start looking. I have seen them go for less than $500. However, if you have to replace the crank, I would seriously be looking at a 4.375" crank.
