Default Neck bearings

Hey all, I need to replace my beck bearings. There are a bunch to choose from, so what do you recommend? I'll be picking them up from J&P. Ball bearing style or Timken? Do I need a bearing puller to do the job myself? This is for my 65 pan.

Tappered roller "Timken" all the way. I cant think of any advantage to the original ball style bearing. Others may say different.

Are the races built into the frame in those old pans?

+1 on Timken. Go to http://www.hydra-glide.com/index.php and check out the "Knowledge Base" and you will probably find answers to all your questions on old Pans. If you can't find answers in the "Knowledge Base", then post your questions and you will get some good answers from members there.

Not saying you won't get good answers here, but I've found the knowledge base there has a world of info already posted for just about anything for pans.
