Not really but it is something that looks like a labor of love so I may just prep it and shrink wrap it for 100 years... Friggen impulse buys will be the downfall of me, wait'll you see all my as seen on TV junk. Just kidding!

Thanks for the info re the upper rear castings, Tom. At first thought 10/78 sounds like a date code and that would seem to indicate October 1978 manufacture but that doesn’t make sense unless that section was a replacement piece for some reason to repair the frame. I’ll have to watch other frames for similar markings if it turns out to be a date code. If the frame itself was 1977 or later model Shovel then I would expect it to have the two-hole blocks for passenger footpeg brackets that I mentioned above so at this stage I'm staying with it being a 1976 model frame.
